I am recruiting on behalf of my client who are known for manufacturing luxury-handcrafted motorcycles. They are looking for Lead Chassis Engineer to join their expanding team on a Contract basis.

As a Lead Chassis Engineer your main responsibilities are:

• Responsibility for supporting/reviewing and approving concept and production-level design, both internally and externally.
• Leading the design and development of quality components and systems for new class-leading motorcycles.
• Successfully communicating and working with key internal departments and external service providers and suppliers to ensure quality design and feasibility.
• Ensuring application of relevant industry standards and benchmark learning
• Develop commodity delivery plans, and drive delivery to plan.
• Approving concept and detail CAD designs and drawings.
• Attending and inputting into engineering reviews and discussions.
• Occasional travel may be required to support supplier development and product testing.

Qualifications / Skills Required:

• Understand engineering fundamentals in the design and development of components and assemblies
• Risk identification and mitigation.
• Mechanical Engineering Degree with a grade of 2:1 or above.
• Practical hands-on engineering and mechanical experience.
• CREO experience is preferred.
• An understanding of motorcycle chassis design and its interaction with powertrain and electronics is essential for this role.
• A minimum of 6 years within a motorcycle engineering background
