First revealed in 2022 as a concept car hinting at the future direction of Alpine’s design and sustainable innovation, Alpenglow, now in its most advanced version under the nameplate ‘Alpenglow Hy6’, has been presented at the 2024 Paris Motor Show.
The high-performance, hydrogen combustion engine concept car has a ground-breaking 3.5-litre V6 developed entirely by Alpine for optimum hydrogen combustion, producing 740 bhp. Three Alpenglow Hy6 tanks store hydrogen in gaseous form under high pressure in the vehicle’s sidepods and are directly injected into the combustion chamber under meticulous depressurisation to avoid abnormal combustions.
Optimised for performance inside and out, the Alpenglow Hy6 also boasts changes to its exterior design over the original concept for aerodynamic efficiency and optimised cooling, featuring performance-tuned styling and new incorporated air intakes.
Contechs works with several high-performance automotive OEMs to design and engineer meticulously optimised vehicles, utilising the latest innovations in powertrain technology and composite materials to develop the vehicles of the future.
