McLaren has unveiled its new, highly-anticipated halo supercar, named the ‘W1’. A groundbreaking successor to the notorious P1 and F1 models, the McLaren W1 demonstrates the latest innovations in automotive design and engineering, boasting an all-new V8 hybrid powertrain with 1,275PS – the highest power output of any McLaren ever. 347PS of its total output is generated from its power-dense E-module, which integrates an electric motor and control unit for reduced weight and optimised packaging.
The McLaren W1 has a striking yet performance-focused exterior design, featuring Formula 1-inspired ground effect aerodynamics and an adaptable rear spoiler which produces up to 1,000kg of downforce. Paired with a bespoke McLaren Aerocell carbon fibre monocoque, this new model takes performance to new heights, beating the McLaren Senna by 3 seconds on McLaren’s Nardo reference track.
