Jaguar Land Rover has announced plans to upgrade its Halewood car plant in preparation for upcoming electric vehicle (EV) production.
The globally recognised brand – more commonly known as JLR – has reportedly already spent £250m on its Merseyside factory, introducing new car production lines, machinery, people and digital technology, with plans to spend an additional £250m on further upgrades in the coming years, which include robots and new paint drying ovens.
The premium car maker aims to achieve parallel production of electrified versions of its medium-sized SUVs, the Discover Sport and the Range Rover Evoque, in addition to the internal combustion engine versions and hybrids.
Contechs works closely with JLR and other prestigious OEM brands to design and engineer award-winning models, providing expertise throughout the product development process.
