BYD, a leading Chinese EV maker, is seeing sales soar after recent price slashes on some of its most popular electric models. The global manufacturer set a new monthly new energy vehicle (NEV) sales record in June, totalling 341,658.
NEV sales have surged 18% in the first half of 2024 compared to this time last year, with 726,153 vehicles sold compared to 616,810 vehicles in the first six months of 2023.
BYD’s aspirations to grow its overseas sales are clear, as the company expands infrastructure and advertising globally. Competition amongst Chinese EV automakers is ever-growing, but BYD’s aggressive price cuts seem to be keeping it in first place for the forseeable future.
