Apple is scrapping its electric car programme, according to reports of an internal announcement within the global technology company.
Initially planned for launch in 2024, this resource-heavy project will come to a close a decade after its unveiling. Apple instead plans to invest more heavily into artificial intelligence (AI), which has grown exponentially in the automotive industry and beyond in the last few years.
Strong competition between established OEMs and a plethora of start-up OEMs, most notably Elon Musk’s Tesla, has led to a highly competitive electric vehicle (EV) market.
Contechs is well-established in the EV sector, supporting a range of existing and new OEMs to develop innovative EVs for a more sustainable future of motoring.
