Ford has opened a new Electric Vehicle Centre in Cologne, Germany, as part of expansive plans for its new generation of electric passenger vehicles.
The historic Cologne plant sees a $2 billion investment to transform it to a hi-tech production facility, with a brand-new battery assembly, production line, and state-of-the-art tooling and automation, capable of producing 250,000+ EVs annually. This investment represents a major vote of confidence in German manufacturing and European automotive production as a whole.
