Position Title: Senior Design & Analysis Engineer

Duration: 5 Months Rolling Contract

Location: Gaydon

Division: Engineering Operations

Position Description:

  • Senior Design and Analysis Engineer
  • The role will see the associate lead the design and delivery of bespoke test rigs and fixtures in support of the core cycle plan across all the Engineering Labs test areas.
  • These rigs will vary from component to system level or full vehicle testing.

Skills Required:

  • Experienced CAD user for 3D modelling and 2D drafting in Catia V5 or V6/3D Experience.
  • Experience of working as a mechanical engineer (ideally within a test environment)
  • Understanding of various manufacturing techniques and how to optimise designs accordingly.

Experience Required:

  • Experience of working as a mechanical engineer within a test environment with a focus on component and system level rig design.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies relating to the testing of road vehicles.
  • Knowledge of vehicle architecture, components and mechanical systems.
  • Experienced CAD user for 3D modelling.
  • Understanding of linear static analysis and durability/fatigue calculations.
  • Understanding of metallic material properties and application in structural design and analysis.
  • Ability to produce and interpret 2D complex detailed drawings in order to prepare parts for manufacture and assembly.
  • Understanding of various manufacturing techniques and how to optimise designs accordingly.
  • Ability to manage workload, priorities, identify issues and solutions using own initiative.
  • Ability to resolve technical and process issues promptly.

Experience Preferred:

  • Competent user of 3DExperience simulation tools.
  • Experience with SimSolid.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience of collaborative team environments.
  • Experience operating and working in a technically capable team.
