About the company

Contechs are recruiting on behalf of their client who's mission is to drive technological advancements within the mobility sector. They are seeking an experienced Exterior Design Engineer who has a strong back of Automotive Design experience in Exterior systems on a Contract basis. The role will be based in Warwick, UK.

Job Description

As Exterior Design Engineer your main responsibilities are:

• 5+ years of Automotive Design experience in Exterior systems within Bumpers, Grilles, Fenders, Exterior Trim, Spoilers, Lighting
• 5+ years' experience using CATIA V5
• Plastic injection moulded parts experience.
• Knowledge of Exterior methodologies and general requirements (Industry best practice and legislation)
• Experience in working to requirements and design rules and iterating following CAE / virtual test analysis and feedback.
• Releasing experience.
• Forward thinker and advocate of innovation and new technologies.
• Self-motivated to deliver excellence and excellent communicator.
• Experience liaising with suppliers and incorporating DFM and Moldflow feedback

Nice to have:

• Experience designing composite parts
• High end SUV experience
• BEV / EV experience
• Ideally has worked in several Exterior commodities (e.g. Bumpers and Spoilers)
• Start-up experience.
